This song is about dealing with mixed emotions in confusing and non-understandable situations.
There is often a sense of being caught in the middle between two options, or emotions. Feeling uncertain about how to deal with the situation—whether to ignore it or accept, endure, and learn from it.
The color blue is often associated with sadness as well as tranquility. In this song, Blue holds sadness emotions, but a different type of sadness. A happy, unsure, confusing, and accepting sadness.
When the "Dark" is seen before the blue, it enhances the feeling of being blue. Intense emotions can be emphasized by dark colors. The beginning of this song, until the end of the song. Feels sad, uncertain, and confused. Afterwards, acceptance, surety, and gratitude follow.
